An Update from Cru: Queens
Over three weeks in March, teams from all over the country came to partner in ministry across New York City. For two of those weeks, students focused their efforts on college campuses in Queens—and in that short time, the gospel was shared 107 times, and 11 students made the life-changing decision to trust in Jesus!
There were also some deeply encouraging moments with local students. In past years, when visiting teams came to do campus evangelism, they shared that it was often hard to get their own students involved. But this year was different. At both Queens College and St. John’s, their students showed up, some sharing their faith for the very first time! One student, Jacques, usually soft-spoken, has been noticeably more joyful and talkative since stepping out to share his faith.
Another highlight shared with us came from St. John’s University. Despite not being a recognized club on campus, the Cru team decided to go bold and try something new. After a training night, their staff member Mary had a great conversation with a student named Amayiah. That very night, Amayiah joined their meeting and learned how to share the gospel herself. Amazingly, she came back the following week to go sharing with Mary—and now she’s even planning to join a summer mission trip to Miami!
God is clearly at work in New York City, through the Ministry of Cru, and we’re so grateful for how He’s moving through these students and missionaries. Continue to pray with us for this ministry!
