An Update from Restoration Church

Over the past several months, Restoration Church has walked through some major transitions—all of them marked by God’s faithfulness. After a flood damaged their building back in 2022, they’ve now returned to a beautifully renovated space and are making great progress paying down the debt.

Since moving back in, the church has seen rapid growth. In December, their founding pastor of 16 years, Dan Trippie, transitioned into a national role as a public theologian. From Florida, he continues to support Restoration and other churches through his work with The Center for Christian Thought and Ethics.

In this new season, the elders invited another founding elder, Wes Walters—who had moved to Alabama to plant Aim Church—to return and take on the lead role. Wes and his family moved back to Buffalo in January of 2025, and the transition has been incredibly smooth. In April, they told us that 16 people joined the church and they’ll also baptize 15 people! It’s a joyful time at Restoration Church, and they’ve expressed deep gratitude for the years of partnership with The Chapel.
