We Are Essential

Because abortion providers do not rest during this time, neither does Summit Life Center in serving those facing an unplanned pregnancy. Summit Life Center is a Pregnancy Decision Center and a Pregnancy Resource Center located in the heart of Niagara Falls, NY. We believe to be truly pro-life and pro-family it’s necessary to offer services for both pregnancy decision making and parenting skills. Experience has shown us that the community we serve requires both medical services and parenting classes in order to provide the support parents need to have a positive vision for their future.
During this pandemic, Summit Life Center continues to offer free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and emergency diapers and wipes to mothers in need. Basically, we are providing lifesaving services while maintaining safe practices by following all protocols. We sanitize, mask up, glove up, and are ready to help!
Fear and uncertainty are the breeding ground for many abortions, and the pandemic has sparked an urgency to stay open. We are allowed to stay open because all of our services are free and are deemed essential, as we serve a population that is low-income or does not have insurance.
One of our moms, Amara, came to Summit Life Center to take a pregnancy test and have an ultrasound done. After finding out she was pregnant she called her boyfriend. He told her that he would break up with her and would not support the pregnancy in any way. He ordered her to have an abortion. Amara was in crisis struggling to deal with the emotional break-up and the overwhelming responsibilities of a pregnancy during the pandemic. She stated, “I don’t know if I should have a baby at this time of uncertainty, because of the virus. How can I bring a child into this world?” She continued to come to Summit Life Center where a peer-counselor listened to her, prayed with her, and shared the gospel with her. We told her how special her child was, and if God wanted her to be pregnant at this time, that meant her child is part of history, is strong, and a survivor.
Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Amara now looks at her pregnancy with a newfound sense of hope! Despite her situation, we never gave up on her. She is currently enrolled in our on-site parenting program, Earn While You Learn, where we will help support her, and help her be a great mom.
