Real Men Are Stretching SONward

by Rich Neumann, Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission

Since our incorporation as a non-profit in June of 2007, Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission, in the heart of Niagara Falls, NY, continues to minister to the deep needs of those who grace our doors. Yes, we feed, clothe, and shelter our guests, but our greatest work is to lead people to Jesus, the Savior of the world.

John Cooper, our Board President, called our New Life In Christ Discipleship Program, “the heart of the ministry at NGRM.”  On July 18, 2020 Pastor Mark Perkins, who leads our Spiritual Care ministry at the Mission, enjoyed the privilege of graduating five men who came through our extensive, long-term discipleship program. It was a great time as we celebrated their achievement. But our main speaker, Pastor James Jones, one of our board members, reminded the men that it doesn’t stop there. It’s an everyday commitment to the Lord to walk with Him in this ungodly world. The perseverance, hard work, sacrifice, self-discipline, and respect for authority that they manifested during the program, has to continue on day after day.

One of the graduates stated, “This program literally saved my life.” We know what he means when such a program proclaims Jesus Christ and teaches His Holy Word. As one person commented on Facebook, “changed lives made possible by the power of Christ.” God is the One Who gets the glory for any transformation in these men.

Discipleship graduation is always the main highlight at our mission. We presently have five more men who are working their way to this celebrated goal for their lives. Pray for these men, for their endurance and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We give a special thanks to our Chapel family who is dedicated to our forward movement for Jesus in the heart of Niagara Falls, NY. Much gratitude fills our hearts for your faithful and loving support!

Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission is committed to glorifying God by sharing the life-changing good news of Jesus Christ, while caring for the needs of our community through His unconditional love, mercy, and grace.
